Common Migration Tool allows
Amkor to focus on learning not migrating

"Major kudos to BinaryTree's Professional Services department. Throughout the migration they provided us with great support and I know it would not have been successful without their help."

BinaryTree's Solution..

BinaryTree.com supplied Amkor Technology with the Common Migration Tool (CMT), which allowed them to migrate from an Exchange environment to a Lotus Notes environment.

Amkor was able to successfully migrate about 150 users from Exchange to Notes over a two day period. That was a large improvement from earlier migrations using different tools.

"Amkor Technology had acquired Integra Technology and it was my responsibility to integrate their infrastructure into Amkor's," said Henry Grant, Senior Network Technology Manager at Amkor Technology.

Not only did CMT perform well, it also converted all of the key components of Microsoft Exchange without the loss of object fidelity.

"Integra was an Exchange shop and we recognized the need to migrate to Amkor's Lotus Notes/Domino™ environment. From Integra's perspective the migration of Exchange to Notes was very unpopular. People were very comfortable with Outlook Exchange and they did not see the need for a painful migration. However, because we did not have any major technical issues with the migration we were able to focus on training and showing the Integra end-users the power of a Lotus Notes/Domino™ environment beyond email and basic group collaboration."
